Grains of creatures past slip through your claws...
The wind kicks up sand as you trudge through Hell’s Belt, waiting to meet your trainer who would help you master pyrus. You glance about you, your eyes straining to see. Sand, sand, and more sand. Why would someone who is a master of pyrus want to live in an area like this? Your paws carry you to the top of the dunes. The wind dies down and you can finally see clearly. A black and maroon kemata kicks his hind legs, flames spewing from his paw pads. He then lands on his forearms and rolls like a ball towards an enemy kem. Flames spike from his back as he swirls wildly towards the foe, causing them to flee with their tails tucked between their legs. The muscular kem raises to his paws quickly, turning his gaze towards you, gold and harsh. You flinch slightly but make your way down the dune towards the kem. Bowing your head with respect you state your name and your purpose. “Ah, I’ve been expecting you.” The kems voice is deep and gruff but he acknowledges you as a trainee. He starts walking his way towards a small hut, not far from the training grounds. You murmur why would somebody want to live here in the desert? “Sand doesn’t catch fire.” Atesh stops and stares down at you as his tail bobs with annoyance. “This is the safest place to learn to control one’s flames. If you’re going to train with me you might want to consider buying some goggles.”

Eternal Flame Atesh

Pyrus Master

Name: Atesh
Nicknames: Molten Lava, Eternal Flame
Gender: Male
Height: 106 cm

A temperament as hot as fire! However he can be easily calmed and willing to listen to reason. Has a permanent scowl, when he smiles it feels awkward. He likes to talk to very few Kematas. He has a soft spot for kids, he wont smile at them but he looks...less...scowly. Master of fire, uses it to propel him towards enemies, making his attacks 10 times stronger and more painful. He dislikes the rain and or anything cold because it makes his body feels stiff and achy. He doesn't like spicy food or cold noodles, but loves egg sandwiches with pickles and ketchup. He is easily softened for Jang-mi, as she has always been patient and kind with him. As kids he would help keep demons and monsters away from her so he has a sense of protectiveness over her.

HOW WILL YOU PROVE YOURSELF?

Atesh challenges you to prove yourself in mastering the art of Pyrus! In order to prove your worth you must select 3 out of the 10 prompts listed below:

Prompt 1:
So, you decided your magic. Can your kemata handle its newfound ability? Depict your kemata studying hard with their magic.

Prompt 2:
Atesh seems to be having a bad day and is blowing up on every kems face until a kit bumps into him, trying to get their ball. Atesh pauses and stares down at the child. Despite still having a grumpy demeanor, he helps out the kit and plays with them. Play with kids?

Prompt 3:

Atesh wants you to blow up balloons for some training, but you fruit no results. You notice on the packaging that the balloons are somehow 1000F(537C) heat resistant? Blow them up before he returns!

Prompt 4:
You're trying to find atesh for training until you hear what sounds like rockets over your head. You look up to see him dashing around the sky and punching through slabs of wood with great force. He uses flames blasting from his paws to pick up speed and power. Try imitating his technique!

Prompt 5:
After a freak magic accident, you find Atesh half frozen and half wet. His two most hated sensations in the world. Poor thing can't even move, so much so, he can't concentrate trying to use fire magic to heat himself up. His mom made his favorite sandwiches, fried egg with ketchup and pickles, to comfort him as he relies on you to keep him warm.

Prompt 6:
You won a trip to go ice climbing along with some older kems who are having trouble even carrying their equipment. All of you go out and begin the climb when all of a sudden the ice over your heads begins to collapse and knock you all to the deepest drop of the mountain. Use your magic to keep everyone warm until help arrives!

Prompt 7:
There’s a pretty cool street performance happening in the streets of Light City where a kem is using oil and their lungs to blow huge streams of fire. It was almost like a dragon dancing in the air. They stop to announce that they need a partner for this next trick, a partner who knows pyrus magic. Volunteer to make their performance the best they had!

Prompt 8:
You spent about 20 minutes wandering deep into a cave to where Atesh told you to meet him. The more you explore the thinner the air gets and for some reason a lot hotter as well. The darkness was suddenly cut by lights of flames as they hurled towards you but just barely missing. “If you can’t take the heat, then what’s the use of mastering pyrus?” Atesh’s voice echoes past the flames as his silhouette is shadowed through the flames. Survive Atesh’s Extreme Heat Cave Training.

Prompt 9:
Destruction and passion. Fire represents these well, but can your kemata channel these ideas? Depict your kemata using their magic to represent a passion of theirs!

Prompt 10:
Fire can be the source of life and devastation. Portray your kemata overcoming a great fear using their magic.
