The cool winds chill you to your spine...
You respond with a general, “it's going good thanks” and he nods in response. “Say, I'mma warn ya now but this shit just ain't spicy enough.” You inform the Kemata that hot chili oil and dried peppers are at the other side of the stall, and he shakes his head, “Still ain't spicy enough!” You cock your head the other way and give him a puzzled look. “Welcome! What would you like to order?” Clifton stands behind the stall, another one of his odd end jobs you guess. “Spicy miso for me please!” Clifton gives a nod and turns his back, dunking some freshly made noodles into boiling water. You look back at the Kem sitting next to you, “Guess I gotta use my own sauce, still not spicy enough.” You notice how the whole bottle of chili oil and container of dried red flakes is gone! He snaps his fingers and a small ball of lava forms in the air. Effortlessly, he drops it into his bowl, gives it a good mix and slurps the noodles right up. “Eeeeh, it's subpar but at least it's spicy enough now!!” He starts slurping up the noodles but a burning smell catches your attention,
“Uhhhh….” The lava ball begins to burn through the bottom of the plastic ball, continuing to leak as it trickles along the wooden stall. The two of you stare at the magma as it bursts the wooden counter below into a raging flame. “Ah shit, not again! Aight, I’m out!!” You panic as the Kemata dashes, leaving behind a small pawful of diamonds.
“Wait, uh! Clifton get out!!!” Clifton turns around to you with a grin. “It’s almos-''
The grin melts into a panicked face as he thinks of which way to leave the stall.
“The back door the back door!” you yell to him as you gallop a few feet away from the stall. Instead of listening, Clifton somersaults through the front window of the stall, directly into the flames. He lands with a thud and rolls around, wiping out any flames that tagged along with him. You give a growl as you dash into the direction of the Kemata culprit. “Hey! You need to make up for this!!” You notice scorched dirt and grass as you make haste towards the Kemata but they suddenly stop. The Kemata is sitting on a large rock and sighs.
“Look man, this happens all the time, I left him some diamonds, so he’ll be fine. But since you had the guts to follow me here, do you think you can handle the heat of magma?” His bushy tail sways side to side, “I saw how calm you were back there, any normal Kemata would have turned tail and ran the moment the fire showed up from the magma, but you didn't even blink an eye. So how about we refine that confidence and make you someone with true gusto!!!” You sigh, but reluctantly agree to work with this jack ass.
“It wasn’t my fault!!!” Clifton's tears spilled over like waterfalls as the owner of the ramen stall scolds Clifton for his “clumsiness."
“This is the third stall that has been burned down by you! I’m tired of it, you have to pay for all the damages made here today and in the past! No excuses.” Clifton whimpers as he turns to his empty wallet. Surely somehow he would be able to make the funds.
Kon
Magma Master
Name: Kon
Nicknames: Red Pepper, Chile, Ghost Pepper, Dragon Breath
Gender: Male
Height: 108 cm
A kem with a snarky personality, considered "spicy". Short tempered and almost literally explodes in anger. Holds grudges until he gets payback or until the other Kem apologizes. Has his tongue out 90% of the time. He discovered his love for magma at a young age. He admires how destructive magma can be and its ability to create things. Likes to walk on lava for fun. Often asks random strangers if they wanna bet if he can do it or not. A meme lord. Is Kisa's ex boyfriend.
HOW WILL YOU PROVE YOURSELF?
Kon challenges you to prove yourself in mastering the art of Magma Magic! In order to prove your worth you must select 3 out of the 10 prompts listed below:
Prompt 1:
"OK RECRUIT. Here, we have a village totalled by a nasty volcano and I have TOTAL confidence that we can totally remodel this entire place. Don’t worry about the kems, they’re staying at a mansion I made.” You could only imagine the crudely constructed ‘mansion’ and kits playing in soot. He stomps and points as he tells his plans for the village, finger framing which home goes where. He sits and puts his paws on his hips, overseeing the imaginary scenery that’s in his head before he turns to you and says, “You’ve built a village before right?” Fake it until you make it; help Kon remodel the village from cooled molten rock.
Prompt 2:
You wait around at Kon’s place, admiring his lava lamps. There’s a lot of lava lamps. He really likes lava. One of his lava lamps tumbled in place from the slamming of a door. You can hear cursing under someone’s breath and faint sobbing and sniffling. You peak around the corner to see Kon rummaging through a drawer. He shoves items around and takes his time to look at photos before tossing them aside. Kon does this with a few more things until a single tear forms in his eye and drops to his belly in place, the gust of air stirs the photos of him and Kisa as a couple. He then buries his flustered face in his paws and flattens his ears. You see his shoulders bouncing with each muffled sob. Try to comfort Kon with a joke or two. Maybe go lava lamp shopping?
Prompt 3:
You’re on a trip with Kon and some friends and you all decide to go on a tour around a volcano. You’re grouped up with some other families on vacation as well, some of which had a few kits with them. So, the tour guide takes their time to explain the history of the volcano and some drawn out information that’s honestly so boring that your eyes begin to wander. In the distance, you see a balloon drifting over the mouth of the volcano and a kit leaping up in the air trying to catch it, but they slip and begin to slide down the throat of the volcano. Kon dashed past you, yelling, “GET THE KID.” as he takes a huge leap into the air to catch the balloon. Spring into action and save the kit!
Prompt 4:
Kon was treating you to a nice outdoor bakery that serves Spicy Chili infused chocolate lava cakes when you heard on the radio about a dangerous flibb on the loose who’s notorious for ruining people’s days. The sun was bright and the air was so cool, it would be very unfortunate if something bad did in fact happen, but so far the day has been pretty decent. The lava cakes were served to you both, and just as when Kon was about to reach for his cake his eyes of excitement died when a flibb stepped in his cake, looked him dead in the eye and stuck his tongue out before leaping off into the air with a cackling, “NYEHEHEHEHE”. Kon didn’t move, nor spoke. He slowly pushed away from the table and stood. “Let’s kill that flibb.” he muttered with a cold tone. Get vengeance! (But don’t kill the flibb…)
Prompt 5:
Becoming a magma magic user allows you to become highly resistant to extreme heats, with a lot of careful practice of course. Show off a bit of your new skills to terrify your friends!
Prompt 6:
A land fissure has caused a lot of destruction in a nearby village, even magma has begun to pool up from the deep fissures. Terra magic users can only do so much, maybe you can use your magic to help the village!
Prompt 7:
You decided you needed extra opals to pay off some debt, so you picked up a job that lets you exploit your magma magic for some training by becoming a guinea pig for a Extreme Deep Lava Diving company. Thing was, they were all out of lava. Use your magic to find some!
Prompt 8:
So, you decided your magic, but can your kemata handle its new found ability? Depict your kemata studying hard or practicing their magic.
Prompt 9:
You, along with a small group of kems, won a plane ride over one of the biggest active volcanoes on val-shenn. The mouth of the volcano was smoking thick clouds of sulfur and ash that reached several hundred feet where you were and into the plane for some reason. An irresponsible kem was filming the land mass and had a window open with half their body hanging out for the “thumbnail”, but they screamed impishly, “My diamond play button fell! Right into the lava!” Maybe you can get your social handle plugged into their video if you helped them out?
Prompt 10:
The sharp odor of sulfur attacks your nose as you follow Kon higher up the active volcano. Is this some kind of training? Maybe he’s showing how your elemental affinity is active in nature. Perhaps he’ll show you how to- Kon rolls down the mouth of the volcano and nose dives right into the magma. WAS HE TRYING TO KILL HIMSELF? DID KISA DUMP HIM AGAIN? He pops his head out of the magma, chuckling impishly and waving at you, “Come on in! It’s only hot!” He splashes some magma like its water. Do you dare to swim?
