Red dust covers your paws as you continue your trek...
The caverns above opened in waves and cracks as the bright blue sky seeped through, warming the smoothly paved floors. Your paws felt the slight divots and cracks in the tan and rust colored rock below. Claws quickly scraped against the stone as your pace quickened. The heat of the sun made this painted cavern look gorgeous, but it wasn’t worth possibly getting a heat stroke. Waves of heat began to make themselves seen, the sound of cicadas seeming to add to the weight of the hot sun. Your pace slowed for a while when you finally found a shady place to take refuge in. It was only as the sun began to set that you decided to continue your journey.
Finally, the cavern came to an end, and the sound of rushing water filled your ears as you glanced about yourself. Two large pillars towered overhead. A large waterfall rushed violently between them, the falls painted a lovely yellow and orange as you stepped forward, allowing yourself to finally take in that much needed water. Something told you to be on guard, your ears flicked back and forth, quickly you leapt up to the sky, a sharp metal chunk hurled your way. Your claws unsheathe as you prepare for a fight. Behind the waterfall you can see a black and red image peering thoughtfully at you. Easing from one side to the next you notice it studying your every move. Finally you speak out: “Show yourself! You have the nerve to attack a Kem who is simply trying to get a drink, so what’s the deal?!”
The blurry image steps between the falls and stares down at you, the water rushing against its back phasing it none. Golden-yellow eyes pierce through your fur as it steps closer. “Why are you here, only dumb asses like me want to live in a place like this. Take your tail and get outta here!”
You flick your ears, confused by the discussion happening, “Uh...what?” The creature turned out to be another Kemata.
Its ears perked forward “What did you say?”
You relax your stance and simply stare at him “What?!”
The Kem huffs “WHAT DID YOU SAY?”
Finally the two of you meet on the same ground, “My name is Galen. I’m the Iron master. I love how iron feels between my claws. Oh, if you work hard you can transfer between walls! All the walls and rock in this cave have fine grains of iron, it's pretty cool honestly.”
You stare at the kem who invites you into the waterfall, what are you getting yourself into?
Galen
Iron Master
Name: Galen
Nickname: Gal, Galileo, G
Gender: Male
Height: 125 cm
Seemingly bit of a simpleton, gentle and doesn't let anyone get the better of him. His demeanor gives off a false front of stupidity but in fact, he is quite intelligent and tactical. In the most unconventional way, he can morph iron into walls as a quick means of defense, or make small pin balls he can flick at people.
HOW WILL YOU PROVE YOURSELF?
Galen challenges you to prove yourself in mastering the art of IronMagic! In order to prove your worth you must select 3 out of the 10 prompts listed below:
Prompt 1:
Galen has been guiding you for what seems like an hour until he finally made his stop. Your blindfold gets taken off and you find out he's taken you to a forest. "Ok. Get out of the forest. But first…" He reached into his bag and pulled out what he calls handcuffs, but they're about three inches wide all around the ring and weigh like an overfed behemoth kit once he put them on your front paws. "Ok, NOW get out of the forest. And break out of those too while you're at it." He took the key to the cuffs and crushed them in his paw, tossed it away and left just as he arrived.
Prompt 2:
Galen hands you a small two inch metal fox. "This is something I made with metal shaping. It's a good way to really sharpen your iron magic. It took me a few years to finally make something smaller than inches." He rummages through his bag and gives you three inch iron balls. "Make something from these. Perhaps something personal? Do your best." He smiles warmly.
Prompt 3:
A cloud of dust rolls across the rock quarry Galen has told you to meet him at. "Good, I'm glad you made it." Galen greeted you as he was rolling a rather big rock around to his side. He placed a paw on the rock and slowly lifted his paw. The rock nudged consistently in place as holes began to find into it and a small metal ball came out the top of it. "You can be resourceful just about anywhere you go, since rocks are all over the place." He caressed the metal sphere then gripped it, condensing the sphere into smaller and tighter. He tossed it in your direction to let you inspect it closely. Galen then gestures his paw towards the quarry. "You have plenty of resources to practice with. And it's ok to practice here. I talked to the kems that work here." Extract the minerals and create condensed metal spheres.
Prompt 4:
Galen plays a chess game against the Psychic master, Raspien, on his 10 consecutive win. Raspien took advantage of the game when their waitress gave Galen his meal by quickly switching a few pieces. When Galen notices, Raspien plays it off that Galen had just made that move so it seems legit. Stop Raspien from cheating
Prompt 5:
Galen, Blitz and Petra took you out to a restaurant for trivia night and Galen might have had 1 too many drinks. But he somehow was able to answer all of the trivia questions correctly until he just passed out along with everyone else. Pull through and answer the last answer to win the game!
Prompt 6:
On your stroll through the neighborhood you overheard somekem yell out, “Gash nabbit. I just can’t get these support beams to stay in place…” An olderly kem seemed to be having trouble making some renovations to their home. There’s some scraps of metal beside him, maybe you can help him reinforce parts of his home?
Prompt 7:
You decided to volunteer at a dojo which kems practice with iron bo staves. Crazy right? But, they need an iron magic user on call to repair their equipment, so that’s where you come in. To be fair, they’ll pay you a small lump of opals for an amount of equipment you fix. You flinch with every WHACK and THONK. Just think of the money and practice you’ll get for fixing their stuff.
Prompt 8:
So, you decided your magic, but can your kemata handle its new found ability? Depict your kemata studying hard or practicing their magic.
Prompt 9:
Cold rigidity and form. These represent this magic well, but can you channel these ideas? Use your magic to form a structure of sorts or craft something unique and personalized.
Prompt 10:
An iron mine has collapsed! Don’t worry about the cargo, their lives are more important. Just be careful! Maybe use your iron magic to form an opening?
