The Playground

The lights above kept the streets well lit. Upper light city was the place to be at night, always bustling and busy with the rich and fancy kemata coming too and fro. All shops stayed open late. But you had lost track of time and the lights started to go off for the night. The shops started to close and you tried to hurry back home. You knew a shortcut back to the hotel you were staying at for the night and decided to slip down an alleyway. While traveling down it you noticed the air temperature drop dramatically. “Hey there little kitty~” Your ears rise to the rooftops above as a dark kemata stares down at you. His icy blue eyes glowed in the night. You prepared yourself with some icicles between your toes, ready to throw them like daggers.

 

               “Don’t you know the rules of Light City, little kitty? Once the lights go off, the big cats run the streets.” The kem leaps down and lands in front of you, he glances at your poorly hidden “weapons” and grins. “Oh, so you’re a Glacial user, huh?” He slides his paw across the ground, ice coated the ground suddenly, causing you to lose your grip and tumble to your face. You wince while raising to your full height, glaring knives at him.

 

Laughter bursts from the other kem, “Do you really think you could hurt anyone with such a shitty stance and petty ice magic?” He skates around you, snickering while making several laps. “Tell you what kitty, you come train with Ol’ Tomoe here and I’ll teach you how to make the world fear you by your presence alone, whaddya say?”

HOW WILL YOU PROVE YOURSELF?

Tomoe challenges you to prove yourself in mastering the art of Glacial Magic! In order to prove your worth you must select 3 out of the 10 prompts listed below:

Prompt 1: 
Tomoe was flexing about how many girls he pulled this past weekend, so he feels pretty confident in trying to hit on a beautiful Kem walking past you both on the sidewalk. He tries to flirt with ice, but alas she rejects him. Help him look cool!


Prompt 2:
Pashmina is Tomoe's pet parakeet and also his most prized possession. Pashmina's most prized possession is her tiny claw sized mirror so she can check herself out. You are in charge with keeping it safe while she’s away on vacation with Tomoe. It goes missing all of a sudden! Try to and find her mirror before she returns.

Prompt 3: 
You’re training under Tomoe, dodging his ice spikes to increase your endurance. He gets distracted by a girl and starts to talk to her, so he haphazardly flies the spikes. Dodge them for your life.

Prompt 4:
You were doing a menial task delivering bird food to a rooftop. When you arrive there you can see that there’s a bunch of bird coops and Tomoe feeding a bunch of the birds. He notices you and feels immediately embarrassed. “Look here, if anyone besides us knows about this, I’ll make sure EVERYONE knows about THIS!” He pulls out a photo of you at a new years party doing something rather, well, something we can’t put into words. “You better help me feed these birds, OR ELSE.”

Prompt 5:
You and tomoe’s gang walk by Atesh and his apprentice. When they walked by one another, they both delivered a magical blow to each other. They never really liked each other and always one up the other with their magic, or anything else they are challenged to. They wont stop. Team up with the other apprentice and cool off your master.

Prompt 6:
You were invited through a friend of a friend to a pretty lavish party with snacks and foods that would take you a dictionary to pronounce them. Apart from the noise of the party, you can see a kem who was enjoying themselves too much with spirits as they stumbled over themselves and knocked over the ice sculpture. That ice sculpture looked pretty elaborate and expensive. The sculpted kem even had pecks. Can kematas have pecks? Anyways, try to fix the sculpture before anyone notices.

Prompt 7:
It’s a hot day. Like a super hot day. It’s so hot you can cook an egg on a flibb’s head. It’s so hot, not even this prompt makes sense. In your home, you check your freezer and- Oh no, you’re out of ice… But wait! You know glacial magic! Turn this hot day into a frozen wonderland!

Prompt 8:
So, you decided your magic. Can your kemata handle its newfound ability? Depict your kemata studying hard with their magic.

Prompt 9:
Rigidity and absence of warmth. Ice represents these well, but can your kemata channel these ideas? Depict your kemata using their magic helping someone battle the heat!

Prompt 10:
Ice retains eras of old life and blanket entire continents. Portray your kemata using their magic to overcome a chilling obstacle.
