Mewls from Flibbs and whines from Krooks made your heart soft...

Your familiar stood close to you, scared of the constant cries for freedom that sounded from the familiar shelter just ahead. A large white cat trotted around the shelter, carrying bags of food on each side as it stopped to fill the trophs for each kennel.  You trotted towards the large cat, its large green eyes resting on you as a deep meow sounded from its chest. "Can I help you?" You stared at the cat dead in it's eyes. Did...did it just...talk? "Come again? Are you referring to me?" The cat's tail began to flick to and fro as if annoyed by your dumb question, "Yes fool, I'm referring to you, state your business. We have a lot of work to do." You stammered, "We?" A small kemata popped  it's head over the cats head, "Yes we! Did you think Marshmallow was talking? She can't talk! What do you want? I have a ton of work to do, and every second spent here talking to you is being wasted causing me to fall behind schedule." Wow this guy was rude, your tail flicked with irritation as you glared at the half pint, "Well, I was told to come here for my beast taming training but clearly I have the wrong kem. Have a good day." You turned tail to leave until the large white cat padded heavily in front of your path then plopped down. "You can start your training by shoveling the poo from the kitsune's pen!" What did you sign up for.

Shelter Chairman Griff

Master Beast Tamer
Name: Griff
Nickname: Cuuutie~~~ Baaaby!!!, Lil Kit
Build: Short Homie
Gender: Male
Height: 50 cm

Born from the strongest line of Behemoths, he got the literal short end of the stick. Standing at a whopping 50 cm he is often called cute and teased. He is quick to react when called cute or small but other wise has a well rounded personality. Loyal to a fault and head over heels for any and all beasts. His goal in life is to tame the largest monster out there and ride on its head while it squishes those who bullied him.

HOW WILL YOU PROVE YOURSELF?

Griff challenges you to prove yourself as the Beast Tamer you claim to be! In order to prove your worth you must select 3 out of the 10 prompts listed below:

Prompt 1:
Somehow, you were drawn to this class in particular. It felt like it was a reflection of your inner core and you were convinced it will be your life’s work to pursue this class. How did you happen to join this class?

Prompt 2:
You were given the great opportunity to babysit a baby Slime. But boy, oh boy, are they a pawful! You think you can handle babysitting this little beast for the night?

Prompt 3:

A class peer appears to be having trouble with honing their abilities. You decided to help your fellow peer and motivate them. How do you help them?

Prompt 4:
Beast Tamers have the opportunity to communicate with the natural creatures of Val-Shenn, albeit big or small, so they can utilize their abilities to their advantage, but taming a creature isn’t everything. Respect is also an element you would have to consider when implementing your class’ skill if you seek to tame any living creature. How did you gain the respect of your first beast?

Prompt 5:
Your friends are a bit confused at what you do for your faction. They haven't settled on what to pick for their class, so they're looking to you for advice; show off your skills in the class you picked to help them decide!

Prompt 6:
Beast Tamers not only tame beasts but also tend to the injured and abandoned. Griff orders you assist with keeping the shelter clean of waste and help bathe the familiars. A simple enough task, until you see that there’s well over 40 familiars scampering about. Griff shoves a shovel at you and says, “Hey kiddo, if I can do it, so can you.” Despite their puntable size, Griff does exceed in beast care. Good luck.

Prompt 7:
Griff had mentioned that there was a secret monster in the Red Wind Hills, so he wanted to tame it but he had no luck. The creature only came out on the brightest days to bask in the sunlight and Griff refuses to miss this golden opportunity. Along with Griff and Marshmallow, you head to Red Wind Hills to camp out for a few hours until the beast finally shows itself. And alas, the Dandylion emerges to bathe in sunlight. Griff scrambles and stumbles to hop on top of Marshmallow as he screeches a warrior’s cry, “Let’s tame this beast and bring him home!” You can feel his excitement help motivate you to tame this new friend!

Prompt 8:
As a beast tamer, you will always have a place in your heart for that special familiar. Griff asks why that familiar is so important to you and why did you choose them? You ponder, almost letting a wave of emotions overtake you as you recall every moment your familiar has never left your side. You share a bond just the two of you share ever since the day you met. Show Griff the strength of your bond.

Prompt 9:
Rain taps against the window of the Beast Shelter as you ponder why Griff left in such a hurry for some reason. As the day passes you complete your duties and pack up to leave when suddenly Griff barges through the shelter doors. An injured flibb with burns and bite marks all down their fins rest on Griff’s back, “Take this flibb home with you. He doesn’t trust a lot of kems, but I know he’d trust you.” Griff’s eyes shined with determination. You stammered, but also realized this is a test of your abilities. You take the flibb home and gingerly rest it in a cozy pet bed. It was hours until it finally woke up and quickly jerked away from you, snarling in a defensive manner as it arched its back and exposed their tiny canines to you. You left him be until they finally relaxed. Convinced the flibb that you’re trustworthy enough to help it.

Prompt 10:
“A familiar beauty contest!” Griff exclaimed. A familiar beauty contest? You thought to yourself while Griff brushes Marshmallow down with a rather large broom brush. Too big for a dwarf kemata to handle. “Yes, we have one every year and I plan for us to win big again!” He beams with pride at Marshmallows shiny coat. You considered helping him, but why not just sweep the competition with your own award winning familiar? Griff can see the competitive fire in your eyes, “Eeehh? I see you wanna try ta beat me kid? Well ya can’t!” He threatens you with his, average size to you oversized to him, broom brush, “I’m the master Beast Tamer and I know all there is to know about making my baby shine!” He aggressively brushes Marshmallow to their discomfort. Prove him wrong and have your familiar win in the beauty contest.
