The rustic theme of the guild made you feel oddly at home...
You glance about you, admiring the towering height of the tavern, eyeing the large wooden beams overhead that connect from one end to the other. You could also see a ladder leading to a floor filled with hay for tired kematas to rest on while on their journeys or taking a short break. Many of the kematas around you gulped down cider with joy and the tavern seemed to buzz with happiness till you heard a loud thundering from a table just ahead of you. A tan and orange kwm with dark teal accents clambered atop a table and brought the tavern to a standstill. Everyone held their breath, almost as if ready to fight if the building was silenced without a valid reason. "Hello, fellow kems, I just wanted to thank you all for being here tonight as I welcome some of our newest recruits to the Adventuring guild!" Everyone around you roared with excitement only for them to be silenced once more with a heavy thwack from the kemata's tail. "Now I know that we've all come here to party..." his voice trailed as if in deep thought only to change expression again quickly, "And that's what we're gonna do! Drinks are on me!!" Cheering and howling exploded once more as he jumped down safely from the table top, he caught your eye as you lacked a drink and seemed a bit out of place. His pace quickened as he came closer, a beaming smile on his face, "You must be one of those recruits I just mentioned, make yourself at home, we have a lot to do starting at the butt crack of dawn!"
Herc
Master Adventurer
Gender: Male
Height: 107cm
HOW WILL YOU PROVE YOURSELF?
Herc challenges you to prove yourself as the Adventurer you claim to be! In order to prove your worth you must select 3 out of the 10 prompts listed below:
Prompt 1:
Somehow, you were drawn to this class in particular. It felt like it was a reflection of your inner core and you were convinced it will be your life’s work to pursue this class. How did you happen to join this class?
Prompt 2:
A roaming soul, Adventurers are true to the meaning ‘vagabond’ as they are free to scale any land and venture any seas. A jack of all trades as some would call anyone who falls under this class. But, what’s something unique you can do that maybe no one else can claim?
Prompt 3:
A class peer appears to be having trouble with honing their abilities. You decided to help your fellow peer and motivate them. How do you help them?
Prompt 4:
As an Adventurer, surely you’ve seen some pretty ridiculous things across Val-shenn. Or maybe even got caught up in something that made you act quick on your paws. Go on then, what’s something you’ve experienced as an Adventurer.
Prompt 5:
Your friends are a bit confused at what you do for your faction. They haven't settled on what to pick for their class, so they're looking to you for advice; show off your skills in the class you picked to help them decide!
Prompt 6:
Herc offers to teach you first hand on how to survive in the wild, because an adventurer must always know how to fend for themselves. Things quickly go south when Herc decides to squeeze through a tight spacing just to prove that kematas can fit between anything. Clearly this time it’s convenient to have another kem around. Unjam the jammed Herc.
Prompt 7:
You were minding your own business until Herc pulled you into a bush and forced your head down. “You see that kem over there?” He pointed to Yurei, the mage master, Herc’s longtime childhood friend. “You see, I wanna play a prank on her.” he said, sneering. “It’s been so long, I’m not even sure what to come up with. I’ve done about every prank in the book….Oh!!” He squeezes your cheeks and pulls you closer, “Why don’t you help me out? Got any bright ideas in that head kiddo?” Now's your time to prove your resourcefulness by coming up with a seemingly safe prank to pull off on Yurie.
Prompt 8:
Herc heard from a little birdy that there’s a high paying escort mission through the Castle Ruins and all the way to Maple Town. The journey will be long, treacherous, and riddled with monsters, but the pay is so good that Herc ignored the warnings because all he can think about is getting fat cash. Or at least half since he’ll be splitting 50/50 with you if it’s successful. Escort the mission safely!
Prompt 9:
During a private training session with Herc you notice he seemed to be a little uneasy. As the day went on, gray clouds began to roll in with echoing bursts of thunder. Herc clenched his chest then he ran back into town, Sunflower Village. You try to keep up but as the thundering claps went on, Herc ran faster. A loud crack of thunder explodes overhead, stopping Herc in his tracks. He looks around in a panic. His ears tucked back and his muscles tensing with each sound of the storm. He spotted shelter in a hollowed out tree trunk and dives nose first into it, curling his tail around himself while burying his face into his paws. When you did see a glance of his face, his eyes were wild with terror and his face seemed like it was drained of all blood. He's terrified of thunder, almost to the point where you couldn’t recognize the kem before you. Do your best to soothe your class leader until the thunder storm passes.
Prompt 10:
Now you heard everything. Herc was going to attempt to do stand up comedy at the Laugh Box in uptown Light City. Surely he wouldn’t. Shouldn’t! Since his jokes weren’t even that good to begin with. They’re just dad jokes on top of that! He takes the stage, the light burning hot on him right when he makes his first joke, “What time did the kem go to the doctor?....Tooth hurt-y!” The crowd didn’t even pity laugh. Quick, throw him some jokes that can get some laughs out of everyone before he makes a laughing stock of the Adventurers guild!
