Ryiah cares a lot about people and absolutely loves having fun. Loves having friends, being surrounded by them, yada yada. Her problems mostly yield from herself.  She is also idealistic! Ryiah has a wonderful idea of what she could be. Of what the world could be.  Of course, one thing leads to the next... she is often jealous of other people for having things she doesn't. If only she had this, then anything would be possible! If she was pretty, maybe she could find her true love. If she was rich, then maybe she could afford that equipment to be stronger. Well... that is why she is a thief after all. See, Ryiah grew up wanting amazing things-- but due to her unfortunate upbringing, rarely was able to afford it. She was born to two relatively poor Kematas, and she felt guilty for them having to spend money on her. At the young age of 15, she decided to leave her parents behind and learn to provide for herself. It was hard, until she found her natural knack. She was fast, agile, and stealthy. And, well, she made for a great thief. She developed a good taste for valuable objects-- rather than lackluster ones or even worse, fakes-- but rarely had the money to have them. This lead to a motto that others had of her tastes-- Princess Eyes, Thieving Paws. She's quick to act-- and used to it from her thieving. Some see it as impulsive, and sometimes it is. But it has also saved her life. After a while, she found and partied with Elspeth and Quill, and although it was the most fun she's ever had, she has become quite the "Debby Downer" to herself, thinking she doesn't belong in a group with such esteemed Kematas. Now that she is forced to think about it, she hasn't done anything to further society. Not magic or knowledge like Elspeth, not fighting or exploring like Quill. She feels like an imposter. But she also is working to change that.
